Newsletter
If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. For example, the user will not be able to participate in any of our sweepstakes, contests or monthly drawings that could take place. From time-to-time our site might request information from users via surveys or contests. THESMOCKINGBIRD.COM will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. THESMOCKINGBIRD.COM stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact THESMOCKINGBIRD.COM at http://www.thesmockingbird.com to request the removal of this information from our database.

We regularly mail and email our customers about products, services, special deals, and classes. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our choice and opt-out below.
Site and Service Updates
We also might send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.

Correction/Updating Personal Information:
If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us. Choice/Opt-out
Users who no longer wish to receive our mailings or emails may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at info@thesmockingbird.com.
Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that require an outside party, or not.

Shipping Information

We make every effort to ship your order as quickly as possible. Please allow four (4) to seven (7) business days for delivery of in-stock items. Items ordered together are not necessarily shipped together. We will notify you if any item cannot be shipped within 30 days.
All items will be shipped via USPS priority mail or UPS depending upon the order. If you have special shipping instructions or questions about your order, please email us at info@thesmockingbird.com.
If you choose to pay by check/money order, please send your check/money order with order number to The Smocking Bird 2831 Linden Avenue Birmingham, AL 35209. Orders will not be shipped until check/money order is received and cleared.

Returns & Exchanges

Return Policy
Custom cut items are not returnable unless flawed or a shipping error was made.

Custom made clothing can not be returned.

Fabric, lace, ribbon, rick-rack, piping and any other merchandise cut and sold by the yard can not be returned except in the event of defective goods or a shipping error.

Patterns and plates are not returnable.

All other returns must be made within 10 business days for store credit only. All merchandise must be returned in original condition.

Shipping charges are nonrefundable.

*Please note that as the best effort is made to have quality images of fabric, etc. online, sometimes colors, and designs may look different online as in person. The Smocking Bird is not responsible for these discrepancies. If you have any questions about a particular item, please call 205-879-7662 and we will do our best to help you.

Other Policies

IMPORTANT! When ordering fabric please note: If you type in any quantity that is not in 1/4 yard or whole yard increments, when we cut your fabric we will round down to the nearest 1/4 yard. Your final price will be calculated by the quantity you enter. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
For Example: If you order 1.4 yards of fabric, you will receive 1.25 yards of fabric. You will be charged for 1.4 yards.
